Chelsea, a Sarasota native, found yoga in 2012 and was instantly hooked! From the age of four she practiced ballet but suffered a lower back injury during a rehearsal when she was a teenager. Feeling hopeless that ballet was out of the picture, she found herself stuck in a stagnant place battling mild bouts of depression throughout her early twenties. Not knowing where life was taking her, she found yoga to be a great physical workout with some similarities to her ballet practice. Quickly realizing yoga was so much more than a great workout, she started to grasp the mind, body, and spiritual benefits it offered.
Eager to dive deeper in her own exploration and the origins of yoga, she received her 200 HR RYT from The Yoga Shack in the Fall of 2017. As her practice has evolved, she not only realized yoga is a great balance to a well-rounded fitness routine, but it is an instrumental part of spiritual growth.
Her yearning for a life that encompasses mind, body, and spirit has led to this moment. Whether you have never stepped foot on a yoga mat, you’re an athlete looking to improve your practice, or anything in between, start your journey today!
STUDIO CLASSES
The Yoga Shack (TYS), is a collection of warm and hot power yoga studios. Here to help you improve your mind, body, and well-being. A community for all yogis in Sarasota, Florida – from the experienced to the inflexible – practicing yoga with upbeat music, mindfulness, and an encouraging atmosphere at our two local yoga studios.
CLASS DESCRIPTIONS
SWEAT:
A power vinyasa flow, with stretching & strengthening to both your mental and physical self. Strong postures connected by mindful movements, will get you sweating and your heart rate up. Breath and alignment are emphasized to guide you.
HIIT:
A 45 Minute full body class. Full body high intensity movements; targeting areas of core, hips, and glutes, while also working upper & lower body. Build strength for your yoga practice, as well as; tone, burn fat, boost metabolism.
